FROM ACADEMY TO CLUB

Spike UP Volleyball Club grew out of Spike UP STA Academy and has the same owners. Starting with our 2026-27 regional teams, we're taking that training into club competition. SUVC serves boys and girls up to 18U.

OUR MISSION

Spike UP Volleyball Club (SUVC) seeks to help your athlete develop through team coaching, practices, specialized volleyball training, and competition. We offer a positive club culture that helps athletes achieve their fullest potential on and off the volleyball court.

We develop curious, communicative, grateful, goal-setting, self-directed, critical-thinking lifelong learners who thrive in competition and under pressure, who know how to work as individuals and/or with a team as a member or leader, while being fair and considerate of others.

SUVC is an official, registered member club of the USA Volleyball Florida Region.

MEET COACH MARK

Hello, volleyball enthusiasts! I'm Mark Flores, the proud coach and owner of Spike UP Volleyball Club. My love for this amazing sport began in middle school in Puerto Rico and has been a driving force in my life ever since. My journey took me through college volleyball, and I was fortunate enough to play both semi-professionally and professionally. Over the years, I've earned over 36 championship medals and received over 15 MVP honors.

In the spring of 2015, Coach Mark began volunteering as a volleyball coach at the YMCA. In 2023, he launched his own clinic, Spike UP STA, and partnered with the YMCA to help grow and develop its volleyball program.

His dedication and success in mentoring young players soon earned him the opportunity to coach the Mill Creek Academy Girls Volleyball team, leading them to an impressive semifinal finish. Throughout 2024, the demand for personal coaching kept growing, and so did his vision.

In the spring of 2025, Coach Mark led the Tocoi Creek Boys Volleyball team to its first district championship. That fall, he joined the Pedro Menendez girls program as an assistant coach and served as the JV head coach.

In the spring of 2026, he returned to Tocoi Creek and led the boys to a second straight district championship and a run to the regional final eight. That fall, he came back to Pedro Menendez as the head coach of the girls program.

Through every season, one thing became clear: this is what he wants to do. That's why Spike UP STA is becoming Spike UP Volleyball Club, a place where our athletes can learn, grow, and compete.
